Today in Struga was held a regional meeting in the new part of the project called “Business breakfast” of the Organization of Employers of Macedonia (OEM)which is attended by representatives of 20 companies from  tourism sector and catering who also are members of the association HOTAM.
The main topic of the meeting was the initiative of our trate IGO (ORM) for a more efficient model for the reporting and payment of contributions for seasonal workers in our country.
According to estimates by our members, the existing model for the reporting and payment of contributions for workers who are hired for a fixed time to perform things that seasonality is slow, bureaucratic and burdened with huge hidden costs. Therefore we, as a representative organization of employers, will propose a new model for engagement of seasonal workers through so-called System of daily coupon (voucher) for the payment of contributions, which we believe will achieve more effective application of legal provisions for reporting these workers, whose number is growing year by year, especially in the sector of hospitality and turism.
I believe the benefits of the introduction of the daily vouchers for payment of contributions will have the workers themselves, because with it they had additional confirmation that contributions will be paid and will benefit of course employers because this model will eliminate paying high fines for unregistered workers.
At the meeting discussed other ideas that more talks President of HOTAM association . I would add that the ongoing consultations with members of OEM shows that we are on track to define a broader set of proposals and measures which we believe will improve the business climate and provide dynamic business growth and the domestic economy. Despite the proposals relating to the engagement of seasonal workers package will contain proposals and effective legislation to reduce injuries and accidents in workplaces, as well as changes in company law that would suport domestic investment.
This package the Organization of Employers of Macedonia will propose for approval before the social partners as soon as there will be conditions for that, probably immediately after the parliamentary elections.
