On the formal meeting held on the 27th of December in Shtip , Local Economic and Social Council has been established
An agreement for establishing tripartite body – LESC has been signed on behalf of the mayor Zoran Aleksov of the municipality of Shtip , the President of the Organization of Employers , Angel Dimitrov , the secretary of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Macedonia – Angelko Angelkovski and the President of the Confederation of Trade Unions – Mirjana Andreska.
The President of OEM , Angel Dmitrov stated that LESC is very significant for the development of the municipality of Shtip as one of the largest municipalities in Macedonia with a confirmation that this advisory body will be more successful through the social dialogue.
In the Council, except the municipality representatives, Trade Unions, Employers who are members of the Organization of Employers of Macedonia there are also representatives from the local Employment Agency , VET, Textile Cluster and other local associations.
Besides the local councils of Strumica and Tetovo which have been already established, one of the next councils is the council of Shtip established and supported by the YES program from USAID for youth education and creation of new and more job positions.
