The Organization of Employers of Macedonia organized a round table on October 31, 2018 in Skopje, where all stakeholders in OSH field, including the members of the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, the Institute of Labor Medicine, the Ministry of Labor and Social Work, members of OEM, representatives of trade unions and professional associations were present.

The event was opened by Mr. Angel Dimitrov, President of the OEM, who emphasized that in the past period the members of OEM discussed the problems they are facing when applying the OSH measures and contributed with specific suggestions and suggestions for the preparation of a new law or amendments, complementing the law on safety and health at work.

Participants agreed that this round table is a great opportunity to share information and insights from all involved stakeholders regarding the practical implementation of the OSH Law in order to identify problems and act preventative in order to reduce injuries at work .

From the overall discussion of the present stakeholders, it was concluded that the initiative of the employers from OEM can be supported for the adoption of a new Law on Safety and Health at Work. The representative of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy pointed out that the adoption of a new law on OSH is present in the Government Programme, and that analysis of the implementation of the current OSH law by the external experts engaged by the ILO is already in process. In the process of its preparation, all stakeholders will participate and it is good that OEM has already made proposals for amendments to the existing law.
