As part of the launch of the Strategic Plan of the City of Skopje LESC promoted on September 25, 2014 meeting of the City Council held a debate on “Mentoring students in companies – needs and benefits” The debate was attended by representatives from USAID Macedonia, the social partners, the Оrganization of employers оf Macedonia (ORM)and trade unions, members of LESC and council of the City of Skopje.
We discussed how to improve the quality of practical training conducted in companies mentors employees in companies, as well as the teachers and students.
As a representatuive from ORM and member of LESC Skopje, Mr.Darko Petrovski, noted that far too often the requirements of secondary schools to maintain practical instruction in some of the companies are greater than the capabilities of companies, but companies like all other countries should have a sense of social responsibility that they have for the development of the economy. Also noted that educational institutions should show more proactive and show flexibility in creating curricula with the demands of companies.
It concluded that it is necessary to better promote the possibility of mentors companies to train students in the practical teaching, and training they need to go and teachers to know what practical lessons will follow students and parents to learn about the benefits that later will have their child if you regularly go on practical training in companies.
Strategic Plan of LESC of Skopje has a duration for the period of 2014-2017, and the schedule for implementation is in accordance with the Action Plan of the City LESC.
Implementation of the Strategic Plan of the LESC will contribute to improve the situation and issues concerning economic – social situation of workers and employers, and thus improve the quality of life of the citizens of the City of Skopje.
